I went garage sale-ing and I found some awesome vinyl (and a turntable). Here's my haul: Beatles- Abbey Road Fleetwood Mac- Rumors Paul McCartney- Ram ***ABBA- Greatest Singles Collection*** The turntable is an Ion USB... very nice one! All of it for a combined $35! (!)
That is awesome! Some of my songs on my iPhone are ones I converted off of old records (mainly stuff by The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and artists of that era) using a similar turntable and they came out really nicely.
Nice haul as for myself this week: Miles Davis - In A Silent Way The National - Trouble Will Find me Nick Cave - Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!
Awesome! My dad has an absolutely amazing 50s/60s record collection... I love vinyl. It's so much more... nostalgic?
All of those are great selections. RAM was a great record that I think is kind of underrated. I was (and am) a huge Paul McCartney fan.
Those are some awesome finds! I think vinyl just sounds better. Recently I have picked up, Muse - Second law, Passion Pit - Gossamer, Miike Snow - Happy To You I know they aren't really classics, but I think the music is still awesome.
I love vinyl! I have too many records to list, but my favorites are Led Zep III, The Beatles "Red Album" (no, not the White Album), Jefferson Airplane's After Bathing at Baxters, and my most recent: Rush - All the World's a Stage, probably the best live album of any band. I have Rumors (somehow I ended up with 2) and all the 70s Paul McCartney albums, but I don't have Abbey Road yet, it's one of the greatest albums ever! I hope I find it some day.
Rumors is a great album. I found it last year at a flea market for the ridiculous amount of €1 (!) Vinyl is amazing. In the past 3 years I've collected about 200 records, a fair bit of them being new releases (oh the money that went into that). My most recent purchase is Monomania by Deerhunter (2013), and I'm going to order Portishead - Third (2008) and Savages - Silence Yourself (2013) someday soon.
That's really cool! I really like collecting records too. I think I have around 55-60 lps and around 30 45s. Some of my favorite albums are Animalism, Rubber Soul, Introducing The Beau Brummels, and Beatles VI. My turntable's not that great, but I'm ordering an Audio Technica LP 60 soon, so I'm looking forward to that. Anyways, you found some cool ones!
