I have a friend, I believe I referred to him as J in a previous post. After a somewhat hasty spontaneous coming out as transgender, I decided to talk to him individually and ask him to use male pronouns. He said that he could never see me as male and that calling me "he" would be uncomfortable for him. He also said that I did not "look like a transgender" and that he did not think that I would "want to be a transgender anyway." I explained to him how those are incorrect and told him how I feel, but he still doesn`t get it and I don`t know what to do. We have been friends since the 2nd grade and I don`t want to ruin the friendship over my gender identity.
