Hey guys, today I found out my mom thinks I am not well but she thinks it is because of another reason rather the fact that I am gay. I don't want to tell her right now because this doesn't feel like the right time for me. I want to come out at a time when I am more at peace and comfortable with myself but right now I am not. Also, my mom is very homophobic and she won't take the news very well which would make me feel even worse. Is it wrong to wait to tell her?

By a better time I mean when I'm living on my own which should be soon. I also suffer from depression and anxiety so I want to get it to a manageable level before I come out to my family.

Thank you for your response. I just feel really guilty for hiding this part of myself for so long but it's because I know she wouldn't take it very well. I just cannot take any additional stress in my life right now.

A few months more will not make a difference in the bigger picture.
It is best you do it when it feels right
... and if it is best after you move out then so be it.
    Good luck !
