How soon is too soon?

I suspect that different people have different views on that and that there is no universal standard. I would suggest that you should have sex when both of you want to/it feels right to do so.

My partner and I had sex within hours of meeting each other. So far it's turned out pretty good

Yup, it's all up to you! I personally don't think it's too healthy for a relationship to start with sex, but there are exceptions...
