Just curious, does anyone here like people a lot older? Or ever had a relationship with someone much older than you?
A lot older is sort of vague, but many years ago, I was in a three year relationship with someone quite a bit older and my current partner is 13yrs older than I am. We've been together 16yrs. Todd
I'm not quite sure exactly age wise an exact number. But I often like my professors (I'm 23), and also older actors, some more than double my age. They just seem more mature, sophisticated, stable I guess. Plus I find them more physically attractive.
Spot on. There were some professors I was attracted to when I was in college ... a few in my department, and others I'd see around the university. One of my profs had the fireman look. (Time to take out the hose and put out that fire). Same for movie stars. I still found guys around my age, and even a year or two younger, attractive, but I tended to go up more so than down. I found them to be sophisticated and classic examples of handsome masculinity. I was not looking for relationships or continued rapport with one, since I tend to have an alpha personality, and they would be even more alpha, theoretically. However, thinking of having sex with them crossed my mind and that's as far as it went. It's not the norm, but it is common enough.
I usually prefer older women, but now I realize that someone around my age is a better choice. I dated someone 8 years older than me a while ago and it was definitely a challenge. There was a lot of jealousy and control in the relationship, and I think it bothered her a great deal that I was a free-spirit, while she was more cautious. Dating someone older isn't always a bad idea. You may find someone who loves the age difference and is on your level. I used to dislike the idea of dating someone younger or my age because I always assumed I'd meet someone immature. But I actually met someone who is a bit younger than me, and tends to act a bit more mature than myself. XD
Yeah, I don't even know if older women or men like me, or where I would meet them or how I would flirt with them or they would flirt with me (and how I'd know it). I just seem to like more of them than my age.
^ I think it's the same with the odds of younger liking older. I think that most of the college profs in their 40s liked others in their 40s, or thereabouts. Some may have found some students attractive but refrained from acting on it. It wouldn't have been wise. I think it's a slippery slope for both parties and is best avoided.
True with professors. I would never do that, it would feel too wrong because it's against social norms in almost all ways. I just don't know how to meet older people or really any people at all, haha.
I think I've pretty much always liked older people... there are a couple of exceptions. The latest is 18 years older than me... but I don't care XD
I do find older women attractive and i have always dated people who were some what older than me. However i have a crush on a girl younger than me who is quite mature and i wouldn't mind dating her. As long as you are comfortable and are on the same page with the person then their age shouldn't be an issue.
Yeah. I am rather mature for my and she acts really young for her age. We have loads in common. I've had different reactions from people who know... some supportive... some who think it is wrong. But differently things work for different people for allsorts of reasons. I think as long as the people in the relationship are happy and comfortable... then f*ck anyone else!!!
Yeah, I don't really see myself with someone my age, I just have such a hard time ignoring cultural "norms" because I'm an anxious person.
Hmm...In boys definitely older, most of my male crushes have been at least 3 years older and some much older (professors, upperclassmen). But in girls I have only ever liked people my age.
I dig men who are much much older, I like men at least 50 years old. So I can relate, just like being queer, this was no choice either. Cheers!
