When someone explains that they crave intimacy with people, what comes to mind?

Well, I'm always looking for platonic cuddle buddies, because cuddling is simply fantastic, haha. But what immediately came to mind was the ability to have meaningful conversations, and not feeling like you need to hide anything. That's mostly intellectual/emotional intimacy, rather than physical, but it's what I crave most.

When I say I crave it, I usually mean romantic relationship.

A lot of people think intimacy means sex, but that's completely untrue. A lot of sexual relationships aren't intimate at all.

Thank you both for your responses. I am naïve when it comes to this stuff so you have helped me better understand what the person meant  thank you!
