Okay so there is this REALLY cute girl I've had a crush on for a year or so and we exchanged numbers like two weeks ago and I haven't texted/called her yet.. Does she know you're gay? Maybe bring up something gay related, see how she reacts, and if she's bi/lesbian. Then take it from there

Honestly, take a chance, if she rejects you it's not the end of the world. I'd say be bold and brave you have nothing to lose.
yeah invite her for ice cream. It's not necessarily a "date". I hang out with my friends for ice cream/food/things all the time. That way, you will get to know her, and have a chance to see where she stands on LGBT issues.
