This is mainly a rant I guess. Here lately my boyfriend won't ever let me pay for anything. Every time I try to pay, he refuses to let me and always pays. Sometimes it annoys me. He doesn't have to pay for everything all the time. Is it male ego? On the other hand, when I am with my girl, I am usually the one who pays for things except sometimes alcohol. So I guess that even things out. But my boyfriend is really starting to annoy me with constantly never letting me pay. I'm going to just stop offering I guess. :\

I'm pretty sure its the "chivalrous" thing to do. Men are supposed to pay for their girlfriends, its not supposed to demean or belittle you. Although I get how it can feel that way.

    Your welcome.
If you want you can probably try saying that you'd like to pay sometimes. Just don't be too confrontational about it, because he thinks he's doing the right thing and being nice this way.

You might see this as kind of exchange...
possibly you offer something in return anyways... maybe cooking... soothing his nerves... listening...

Just tell him how it makes you feel. Tell him he doesn't always need to do it, or offer to split the bill.
