It seems girls flock to me for whatever reason, and since I haven't really figured things out with my sexuality I kind of go with the flow thinking who knows maybe I could make it work with this girl. The problem is every time I get in a dating-type situation with a girl I start to worry and lose sleep and generally just stress out about it. I'm nowhere near ready to do anything like tell people I'm gay, but then what's the best way to let girls down without saying I'm gay and not hurting their feelings?

Unrequited interest is always going to sting. If you aren't ready to tell them about your sexuality, just say you liked them, but what you thought would turn into romantic feelings didn't. And you just don't see them in that light.

    *Tells you that they're interested*

"Well, you're a good friend and it'd be nice if we could keep it that way."

    Something like that...

But what exactly are you worried about when you're with a girl?
