I have the situation that my mother is getting old and her mental abilities are declining very quickly. I know from the past what name my parents have planned to give to a girl, she told me when I was a kid. When I browse childhood pictures I see a girl instead of a boy and now I have the burning question, if my mother would have preferred to have a daughter or if I wanted to be the girl in the pictures. Or maybe both. Now I fear: that she will not be honest about it because of fear and shame - so everything would be pointless it might turn into an unplanned coming out - I don't want her to know talk afterwards to others about it because of her mental situation Anyone in a compareable situation? What would you do or what have you done?
