Hi everybody! One of the things most of you know about me aside from being queer, is that im a proud Chicagoian. Being from the greatest city in the usa, i clearly have limited access to the gay british populace which i love sooo much. Bringing me to my questions. Is it common for someone to have something like a britsh accent be such a turn on? Is it plausible to find a gay english guy in chicago? Or should i just move to england? (Really not a viable option at this point in my life.) Whats the average success rate of a long distance relationship? Im not even that crazy about the idea of long distance relationships, i dont know if i want an emotional relationship without getting any man meat:icon_wink
Yes, that is normal. Long distance relationships are very difficult, but they can work if you know that you will be together eventually. Based on your last sentence, I would advise against it, as I feel you really need a very serious, long term relationship for long distance dating to work.
There is a large British contingent in the United States and I'm sure a good many live in and around Chicago, but as to the numbers that are also gay, I don’t know? You could be limiting your options by focusing on British men. A point to consider... the British accent is very diverse and not necessarily as presented in film and on television. We don't all speak the Queen's English. Some people dislike the strong regional accents of the north and midlands and you may feel the same. It's also important to remember that the British accent includes Scots, Welsh and people from Northern Ireland. As for long distance realtionships, they can work in the short term, but it is necessary to put a lot of effort into bridging the divide. Absence doesn't always make the heart grow fonder - it can cause a lot of strain in a relationship and it sounds like you would struggle without sexual intimacy.
