    Hi
I have wanted for a long time to go to a therapist to talk about how I was feeling. I am a little bit down and I want to talk to someone who might be able to give me a helping hand. However, I don't know how to bring this up to my parents. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Every situation is different. Perhaps what you could be effective in your case if you try to talk to them alone with no other family members around. Or better yet, speak with your therapist about this situation and maybe it could be a possibility where they could come to the therapist office and have a brief introduction/meeting with you and them together. Hopefully, this will help with them understanding and being a great support to you.
