How do I deal with someone acting awkward around me after coming out. I'm only out to few people. I told them I was attracted to girls and now one of them acts different around me.
Perhaps try approaching your friend about the situation. Tell them that you noticed they've been acting differently, and ask why that is. Other people may suggest different ways of getting around this, but I personally find it's best to deal with things head-on.
Confront them. Are they male or female? If female, she may be concerned that you're going to hit on her, so just tell her the truth. If male, he might have liked you that way and feels he's been shut down, so be honest. If EITHER gender, they could just be homophobic and you don't need them in your life.
How long has it been since you came out to them? Sometimes, people need some time to get used to what they've learned about you. I know my friends acted different around me when I came out as trans, but it went away on its own after some weeks. If it makes you really uncomfortable or if it lasts too long, you can always confront them about it.
Then they should probably come around. One week is not too long of a time. If the behaviors continues for long or if it bothers you too much, then you should confront them.
Give it more time - it could take a couple of months before things return to normal. It sucks that there has to be this period of adjustment, but hopefully over time sexual diversity will become more mainstream and this won't happen. Good luck.
