So... a while ago I tried coming out to my family. However, it didn't go as well as I thought it would. My dad basically said gay people make him feel uncomfortable and my mother and sister think I made it up for attention, and that I'm actually straight. It makes me really depressed and I feel like my sexuality is invalid... Can anyone help me with this? :frowning2:

Do you still live at home and are not an adult yet?

From what i'm seen whit other people in similar situation mostly the parents often think/hope
it's a phase when the child is not legal(?) yet, it goes again there religion or
they think the child wasn't raised good enough and they failed as parents.

You can try watch a documentary Or reallife-story whit you mother about lgbt people alone,
as it sound like she will be easier to approach whit this topic.

Sorry if my advice it's that great, wait for others that can help better. :icon_wink
