New Revised Standard Version of the above verse, which puts it in even plainer English: "And whoever does not provide for relatives, and especially for family members, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." But of course the fundamentalists still stick with King James: "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."
