Not much since I don't really know anything about it, but the first thing comes into my mind is this:

You beat me to creating the thread. Cold, wet, rainy, freezing, home, Athlone, Dublin, Galway, taytos, Club Orange, Lily O'Brian Sticky Toffee, fields, turf, teddy bear, the Shannon, no theme parks.

I love Ireland, or at least the parts I've been to. But having said that, I'm sure it has it's problems I'm not aware of.

i lived in kilkenny for a few months, so:
beautiful countryside, especially in the west (the ring of kerry, the burren, cliffs of moher, connamara), extremley friendly and positive people, amazing pub and music-culture, lots of wind and rain, the beer is ok but I liked the cider/whiskey more.
some funny sports (hurling, gaelic football...)

I only consider a park a theme park when it has at least one rollercoaster so next year when Tayto Park has one, it shall graduate to theme park status.

Forgive my laziness to research and confirm my suspicions, but the first thing that comes to my mind is them fighting for freedom from the Britons (But it could've been Scotland I'm thinking of..)

    Oh and booze of course

Made fun of/totally derided by the English, but I've got a feeling it's better than England
Birthplace of a lot of great literature (Wilde, Yeats, Jonathan Swift, James Joyce)
Surprisingly secular for a stereotypically ultra-Catholic country

This is Ireland, and not Northern Ireland I'm talking about.
