Imagine you had been given the power to create a law in your country, what would it be? Anything from the sensible to the outrageous. I would enforce the living wage up and down the country so people can live of minimum wage and the state doesn't have to subsidies their wages. What would you do?
Texas secedes from the US and becomes the Theocratic Republic of Baptistan. Free thinkers in Texas are granted citizenship in the US, and less-free thinkers from the other 49 states can become citizens of TROB. Everyone wins!
Anyone abusing people over rights gets that right taken away, eg if someone says gay people shouldnt get married then that person isnt allowed to get married
This is a wonderful idea, but we need to take it a step further: Not only do we dump Texas, but after people have a chance to leave, we put a huge electric fence around it. Maybe even a huge containment dome. And we don't just let them 'have' the land. We make them rent it by the square foot, and collect the money to cut down on our debt.
I would make cannabis completely legal and sell it at a price to undercut any criminal organisations or dealers.
(Prepare for radical changes...) 1. Create a safety net to provide for basic necessities (food, water, shelter) if unemployed. 2. Universal Health Care. 3. Higher Education paid for (provided you can get in). 4. You're assigned to jobs based on your qualifications, achievements, and preferences (where in the country you'd prefer to be - obviously higher demand areas will be harder to get into); no interview required! - obviously this one's just for my social anxiety  5. More career-based focus in high school. If I had to pick one for the good of everyone it would be close between the safety net and health care. If I picked selfishly it would be to get rid of interviewing in the job application process.
I would make it illegal to smoke in the drive thru at a fast food place. Even though I smoke, I hate it when people smoke in the drive thru when I'm working. It makes me want to cough, and who knows? Some cashiers might have really bad asthma. Just smoking around said cashier could make them have an asthma attack, and if the cashier is pregnant, I'm saying she probably would want to stay away from secondhand smoke because it could hurt her baby.
Legalize marijuana Churches and other religious organizations MUST PAY TAXES!!! Its bull**** that these nimrods get away without paying their dues and yet think they have the right to enforce their hateful little opinions on the country.
I would make a radical change in healthcare: Shut down private insurance companies and put into place a single taxpayer universal healthcare system (not a pathetic excuse of coverage like Obamacare, but an actual European-style one).
Quebec would sign the Constitution of Canada, federal money would no longer be given to separatist parties, and provinces would be forbidden from discriminating against either French or English. I hate so much that I'm now a second-class citizen in the place where I was born.
Noone would be able to use lawnmowers, leaf blowers, drills, etc before 11am. (I used to work overnight shifts).
I would have a law making Shaw that everything coming into the UK is fair trade so no workers from overseas get exploited.
