Talk About Your Favorites!!

Dude I love hot sauce. I was just putting hot sauce on some great chorizos fresh off the grill, tried out some "damn hot" habanero and cholula chili lime, the latter of which gets my full recommendation. One of the things I've realized recently is that a lot of the time, the burning power of a hot sauce can be measured by the quality of the illustration on the bottle. The worse it's drawn, the hotter it will be. For example, the hottest sauce I purchased, the ass-kicking ghost pepper sauce, had a really bootleg looking donkey on the front with a shit eating grin on its face. That sauce was a bit too much for me to put on in a big amount. With something like ghost pepper it's best to take a couple drops and then spread them out through something like a dish of rice. I'll try any and all hot sauces. Because of hot sauces I learned about the scoville scale for measuring the spiciness of something. Apparently there are some "sauces" which are made purely to heighten the scoville scale, which are so spicy that they are actually far more powerful than the pepper spray used by police officers. That's INSANE! I don't want to try anything that spicy ... I like tasting hot sauces for the flavor, for me it's all about the flavor. The heat is secondary. For me I would have to say my limit for what I consider to be tasty falls a little below ghost pepper. A lot of the time I find ghost pepper to be too hot to the point where it's just bitter and I can barely get the flavor.

There's this great greek-canadian diner in my town. I know all the waitresses by name, and they always take the time to talk to you about their family and the weather, and to swap funny stories. Almost everything is under ten bucks, and the serving sizes are humongous. There's tacky knick-knacks covering every inch of wall. It's a small space, and you can see into the kitchen when you walk at the front. The cooks always greet you when you come in, and thank you for eating there when you leave. Oh, and the food is damn good.
