Say you have a serving of spaghetti or noodles or something along those lines, would you prefer a plate or a bowl?
bowl easier to pick the dish clean of food, keeps everything warm for longer, also easy to hold without dropping if you're sitting on a couch or a bed or something very versatile
I prefer a plate for spaghetti bolognese, which is one of my fave meals, and it's one of the first "real" meals I learned to cook. I prefer a bowl for noodles.
For spaghetti and for noodles, there's no question that a bowl is the most efficient device. There's usually less spilling involved, and you don't have to use your finger to grab the last few noodles, you just push it against the wall of the bowl.
Plate. I've actually had better luck preventing spills, and you can be more selective about the effect of your fork twists
Spaghetti on a plate. Noodles in a bowl. For spaghetti I use a fork-like...a normal person? I dunno. Noodles, since I'm Asian and use chopsticks for everything (including rice, hahahaha) it's easier. Pretty much anything else besides Western food I'll use a plate.
