Following on from New Jersey, Maine and California, let's cross the Atlantic.

What's the first thing that comes to your head when someone mentions the United Kingdom?

Yes. Also we call trash "rubbish", sidewalk "pavement", gas "petrol".... And we put an extra "u" in "colour" for no obvious reason.

You never know with him. *grin*

Uhm... because that's how it's spelled!

Labour, neighbour, favourite, rumour, colour... hmmn... I'm sure there are others.

Centre, theatre, metre... do you guys spell aluminum aluminium?

Don't forget couch/sofa "chesterfield." I didn't know about pavement, though. Oh, sweater "jumper" and... well no one knows when I refer to the article of clothing called a "top." That is... well basically anything you can wear on the top half of your body that isn't a t-shirt or a sweater. And it isn't button-up i.e. you have to pull it over your head.

Oh... truck "lorry" and trunk "boot," right?

Hail Britannia, Britannia rules the seas...

Seriously, that's what I think of. And "Remember, remember the 5th of November... gunpowder, treason, and plot."

    My mum was British.

But definitely the accent is hot.
