This is more of a thread that helps people improve and extend their vocabulary.

Basically you can post new words you have learnt with the definition of the word.

Sophisticated and more advanced vocabulary is recommended.

You can form a sentence using vocabulary you have just learnt.

    For Example
Unperturbed, and refusing the police's offer of a map, he headed on his way.
Definition of unperturbed: (Adjective) not perturbed or concerned.

This isn't too serious but I have noticed many people struggle with their vocabulary or English in general and I was wondering maybe a thread like this could help?

Incur= Bringing upon oneself, or, coming into by consequence. (meeting often unpleasant results)

Example: I incurred my own despicable fate as a purple monster forever.

(I think I used that correctly.)

n . the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.

    Rebarbative: unattractive and objectionable (adjective)

Example: As a prospect this may sound quaint if not rebarbative but the effect is wonderfully supple, even enchanting.

    Corpulent: An overweight person (adjective)

Example:After binge-eating for months, the emaciated girl became corpulent.

Acquiesce: To accept something reluctantly but without protest (verb)

Example: Though Mr. Laidler wanted to stay outside and work in his garage, when his wife told him that he had better come in to dinner, he acquiesced to her demands.

    Tersely: Abrupt, concise.

Example: "This is of no laughing matter," she warned him tersely.

    Savage: fierce, cruel, untamed.

Example: Wars are such savage affairs.

    Prominent: conspicuous, well-known.

Example: He is such a prominent figurehead.

Flit: To move lightly and swiftly.

Example: Her eyelids flitted shut as she fell into deep slumber.

(To be honest, I have no idea what words are considered complex. It's a shot in the dark for me.)
