Mine is about 2 feet long, red and white stripes, with a furry collar thing.

Macaroons.

Nope, but he do make TONS of them.

We wake up as we wake up. I'm usually up first or else my mom is (she usually works the night before Christmas, so we'll do everything once she gets home).

Usually cutesy, depending on who it's for.

Candies, little makeup things, any gift that happened to be too small to go under the tree because the dog would eat it...

Oh, jeez, I can't think of one right now....

Nope.

Usually, yes!!

Nope.

Very much so. They're so... pervy.

We decorate the fireplace and put up fake Christmas trees (like, metal cutesy things shaped like trees). I don't partake in the decorating, so it's up to everyone else.

Nope.
16. Does/Did your mom/dad make or made you clean your room "for when Santa comes"?
Nope.

Nope.

This will be my second Christmas ever. So, um, not many choices there...

My friends! Family gives me really specific lists of what they want, but my friends never expect gifts so I have freedom to think of what symbolizes our relationships the most.

Usually do it first thing when we open gifts.

I take my sweet time.

Yes.

Nope.
6. Describe Christmas dinner?
Chinese food. With a movie. Sometimes we'll throw in some Hanukkah foods: latkas, sufganiyot...

We don't do that.

First thing in the morning so that my mom can get to bed.

Nope.

A cookbook and movie for mom, CDs for stepdad, makeup for my sister, assorted cute plushies of things my friends like for buddies.

No one comes over, we don't see people. Well, usually a week after Christmas, the other siblings will come over to eventually pick up their presents.... I'm the only one who comes on the actual day.

About 8 in the morning

Not any more I used to when I thought Santa was coming.

Different people take turns each year at having dinner at their house so it depends - it's at our house this year.

before. because we're all insane, we get up at like 7am and tear into our stockings and we dont hand out tree gifts till after everyones done.

when i was little yes, but santa was too quick!

Yes. Only once though. My brothers got all sorts of gifts and I just got a gift card.

sheer insanity. Very very loud, lots of food, and lots of drinking.

we open some christmas eve, some christmas day then more on new years and some day in between.

Just a plain stocking. Pretty large though. Sometimes has a Terry's Chocolate orange and a magazine and oranges in it.

No. I think I stopped when I was 8. Sister still did it though because she was younger.

Not when people walking infront of you are painfully slow or stop and you almost collide into them.

No. No one really. We wake up whenever since we had the special dinner and presents on Christmas Eve.

A bit of both.

Terry's Chocolate Orange, chinese oranges, nuts, and a magazine (either a fitness one or National Geographic or traveling ones)

A super mountain bike. That was amazing.

No. But I've always loved wearing santa hats and I wore elf hats for Christmas plays in elementary school.

Yes. I think Christmas is too focused on the gift giving though. I think we should focus more on family and quality time together more often.

Yes! Cinnamon or the blueberry one's are my favourites.

Our stair railing at my parents and the cupboard ledges in the kitchen have fake pine boughs twisted around them with twinkling lights.

Sometimes have Danish smorgasboard which is like a brunch with European fare.

I used to put carrots out for them when I was younger.

My 16th birthday, going tobagganing with my best guy friend and dad.

My sister. She's easy to buy for. Anything girly or to do with DVD sets she'll love.

No. I caught on when I realized it would be silly for Santa to "come drop my present off early" just because it was my birthday on Christmas Eve.

Open presents on Christmas eve after turkey dinner. Stockings are opened on Christmas morning.

When I was really little I'd rip into them, but now I take time opening them.

No. I like looking at them and how happy others are with things I made or gave them.

Not really.

N/A. We're mostly full or we just graze throughout Christmas on leftovers and European type food.

Turkey, potatoes, yam sometimes, peas and carrots, cranberry sauce, gravy, and sometimes pie for dessert.

Usually 6 or 7pm after Christmas Eve dinner.

I had a tight string on my wallet this year. Money was more tight this year.

it was covered in sewage b/c our basement flooded; it was handmade needlepoint done by my grandma :-(

the tube of sugar cookies that you cut in slices and they have designs in the middle; I don't think they make them like that anymore, but those were my favorite; you could always eat the dough when you "accidentally" cut them to think or thin

of course; but my brother use to eat them to make me mad when I was younger

nah; I actually somehow avoided malls this year; no one wanted any clothing or stuff like that so avoided the whole big mall thing

Once in Royal David's City, it might not be my favorite cuz I like many, but this one is never done so it is really special if I hear it

yeah, I am not usually a huge morning person, but on all holidays I like to get up early so I get the most time out of the day

As in, receive? I usually get candy and money. My family also has a funny tradition of getting a pair of scissors every year because we end up losing them somehow. I've managed to hold on to three pairs of scissors so far. :lol:

Most memorable? Secret Santa in sixth grade. Everyone in the class had to spend five dollars, and my gift ended up being one of those green mini-Bibles the church gives out for free. I just remember being so pissed off and the teacher yelling at me for not being appreciative.

Nope.

Yes and no. My sister never gets something off my list, but she usually gets me what I want anyway. My mom has a bad habit of buying DVDs as a last resort, so I end up getting movies I don't like. Together, though, my parents always get me exactly what I want, like the Blu-ray player last year. That was awesome.

No, I always get something I really want, so it balances out if I don't get something I wanted.

Roast Beef! Yummy! We do a big feast. There is Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade rolls, and tons of other goodies.

Nothing special. I think it will be leftovers this year. The best part is dessert on Christmas Eve, we get to have one of each kind of cookie and then we decide which ones are the best to leave for Santa.

As soon as everyone is out of bed, and after the doggies go outside.

9. Do you get excited and find it hard to sleep on Christmas Eve?
Yes! I love that feeling you get on Christmas Eve. In my opinion it is better than Christmas day.

I made everyone something nice. I made some fudge, and wrote everyone a nice letter. Being broke sucks. I am a very competitive gift giver.

Yes. This year I got to take the picture with my new camera, so I didn't have to be in it.

We stay home. Nobody comes over because they all live too far away. It is just a simple family affair.

It's red with green and yellow triangles, and my name in glittery white letters. My grandmother made it for me when I was three.

Sugar, with snickerdoodles (which are just gussied-up sugar cookies) a close second. Hot, gooey (or at least soft), with milk or vanilla ice cream in close proximity.

For Santa? Screw him - let him get his own cookies.

Oddly, I do. I like trying to find the right gift, and I like seeing the hustle and bustle of people in stores. Especially when everyone is happy, which happens a lot more often that one would expect.

Hoo boy. I like a lot. I'll say "O Holy Night" for traditional, and "Fairytale in New York" for pop.

Kinda, but only because I get up early EVERY morning. Other than that, my aunt is usually the first one up wanting everybody to get started on presents. Not sure why.

If by "your", you mean the ones given to me, it's an even split. For me, it's always goofy weird stuff. I sometimes wrap in Hanukkah paper so my presents to others stand out.

For some reason, amongst other things, my mother puts the same things into our stockings every year. A Pez dispenser, and a travel pack of Kleenex. I have no idea why. We used to get a roll (or a "book") of Life Savers, too, but that seems to have stopped.

My partner surprised - nay, stunned me one year with a cruise. That'll be tough to top.

We're all just OK. Nobody is brilliant at it. Some years we do better than others.

No, but I'll be honest. My sister-in-law has given me framed photos of my niece for three years running. I have no use for these. I have nowhere to display them, and no place to hang them where they'll look good. I'm ready for something new.

Tree only. My parents put some candles and pine garlands here and there.

At our house, one person starts - they open a gift, we all ooo and ahhh, then we go clockwise to the next person. The stocking counts as one gift - you can open it first, last, or in the middle.

I don't think I ever was. I liked opening them all, and seeing other people open theirs.

I do recall one year not getting much at all. And I was half-expecting something or other, but I've since forgotten what it was. So I guess it was no big deal.

One year, I was working for a jeweler, and she told me I could pick out something I might like from the case for Christmas that was pretty small. I picked out a small pair of amethyst earrings (I had my ears pierced at the time). A couple days later, she gave me a small wrapped box and said "Merry Christmas". I took the box home, and on Christmas day, I opened it...and there were four chocolates inside. That's it. No idea what happened there.

My dad does it, and he's an amazing cook. No "traditional" meal - it's whatever strikes his fancy. It tends to be a bit on the "American standard" side, though - roast beef or pork tenderloin rather enchiladas or chow mein.

Christmas morning. Nine or ten am. We all have coffee or hot chocolate or orange juice.

Not for many years.
