This is devoted solely to if you won the lottery. If I won the lottery I think I'd probably donate a million to my local hospital. A million to the Autism Society of Canada because of my being autistic. I'd help my parents with any money issues they were having. (They're not really having big problems, it's just that we bought a house in Florida and a new car for down there so obviously they could use some help ). Um $1 million would definitely go to the Tim Horton's Children Foundation. And the Children's Hospital in London too. Oh Gawd....a million to Diabetes Association. Million to Heart and Stroke. (This because both ran in my family and while I don't have it yet (hopefully never) I feel like helping them find cures and such would be a good idea.) So that adds up to 7 million so far. (I got a ticket for the 50 million draw for Lotto Max here in Canada and that's the jackpot. So that's why I'm doing 50 million). Then I think I'd do like...get some money and go and do my trip to Europe with my best friend because we wouldn't have to worry about stupid money stuff . And buy a really nice house in Orange County or some place like that. And I dunno. Probably save the rest for later ![]()

And if i don't put it in the bank, well, when taxes come around I probably won't be in such good shape. I'm sure some will go to charity at some point, but it's hard to decide which one. Even Bill Gates said at one point though that it's hard to spend more than 250k in a year. There just isn't enough stuff to buy with that much money ![]()

That way I would know that I had enough to pay whatever taxes I owe. Only then would I start actually spending it on things. Generally, I wouldn't spend large amounts of the money on myself, since past cases have shows that that's a recipe for disaster. First, I'd pay off the mortgage on my parents' house so that it could stay in the family. I'd then pay off my college tuition so that I could decline my current scholarship, so the money can go to someone else who needs it (believe me when I say I need it now, but if I were rich, I wouldn't). I'd then pay for my best friends' college tuition, especially two who are having trouble making the payments. I'd then put aside enough so that my roommate (whom I love living with) and I could get a nice apartment right next to campus that we could live in as long as we are at college. I'd probably do other things with it as well, but those are the big ones. However, my ultimate goal with the money would be to establish a scholarship in my name at my old high school. I would make it the biggest scholarship offered there, and it would only be available to people who were eligible for entry into the National Honor Society, based on grades alone, but were either rejected from it for other reasons or chose not to join. You see, I have a bitter history with my high school's NHS. The first time I applied, I was rejected for lack of volunteer experience. I volunteered that summer in the hopes of getting in (though I was fully aware of the absurdity of the fact that volunteering that summer didn't really prove I had become a more honorable person, just that I wanted to get into the society), but I was then rejected again because they found a file on my school computer account that I had typed in Keyboarding class one day whilst very angry (because I thought it would be better practice than the same exercises I had done ten times before), which contained an f-bomb. To add insult to injury, I later learned that most of the people who get into the NHS lie about their volunteering history; yep, I had been punished for being honest. Now that you know that story, you know why I'd set up that scholarship; it would be my ultimate revenge against the organization that made me feel like a lesser human being in high school, just because I refuse to lie about my volunteering, just because I was too focused on my own issues (and believe me, there were many) to help other people with theirs, just because I had opinions that I chose to use profanity to express (and who the hell do they think they are to go through my computer files?). It would also serve as a consolation to people like me, and hey, maybe I could even convince a few people to not join that highly corrupt society. I know, I can be petty sometimes, but only to the people who deserve it.

Of course i would have to buy a few houses here in London because house prices rise fast (rent them out and make a nice wage). I think I would help my family, enjoy the world and save a bit for university ![]() |
