Ok how many people here play or even know D&D and what version?

My brother and I played and we started and stayed in the 3.0 range. (With some mods for items from the older versions :3 ) We hated 4.0

Wow....I never thought in a 1000 years that I'd find another D&D player here. And someone who plays 3rd edition?? I actually bought 3.5 core rulebooks when they came out....and absolutely HATED it. I ended up trading my 3.5 books with someone for 3.0 books. I have like five Player's Handbooks and a couple of Monster Manuals and a crapload of stuff for Forgotten Realms and Scarred Lands (from Sword & Sorcery). But, I haven't played in a few years though. :frowning2:

Nice! I have several friends who played but I was never able to join then due to college or transportation issues. I have several books that I inherited from my brother but he has most of the good books still. I have Forgotten Realms books and several Hollow World campaign books, and some First Quest stuff. I also have some Dragon magazine books too! I only have a figurine since my brother gave the rest away.

The only RPG board game we played as of late was Rifts. And at the college we only have time for Magic the Gathering

I played D&D once, but I prefer the World of Darkness tabletop games. The D10 system is a lot easier to navigate I think. Magic the Gathering was actually invented to basically be portable, quick D&D. And I play that as well.

World of Darkness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's the wikipedia entry for the page, since it would take me days to explain the universe. Lol. It's a pretty good game, and a bit easier for beginners to play since it overlaps with our universe pretty well. It's easier for them to get practice getting into character and interacting with the world around them because its familiar-ish.

Oh man I feel old now :frowning2: But when I played D&D planescape was new and Dragon magazine existed. I liked the switch from 2nd Edition to 3rd edition. One thing I always hated about playing rogues is that the pace of the game goes the party does stuff, the party does stuff, the party does stuff, then back to you, you do stuff, you do stuff, then back to the party. Having the ability to customize your character with feats and having other specialists was a huge plus. And I could be effective in a fight for a change without poison or waiting in a friggin shadow for the whole fight. Yay!

I know what you mean there! I was a Rouge as well, a Rouge Halfling with elven equipment and a crossbow. I still have my character sheet somewhere in my files.

Why did Dragon magazine have to die! WHY!!!!!!!!

I know! Let's all pour out a 40 oz of lesser healing potion on the ground for Dragon magazine.

High five rogue buddy! From a distance of course so my pockets don't get picked :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

OMG! The stories I hear from fellow D&Ders are freakin hilarious!!! But let's face it, nothing is funnier than pickpocketing an ally and their character never knowing about it but the player does XD (Just for laughs mind you!) Oh, the revenge of said character. Good memories!

If someone on the web ever made a D&D magazine I would totally watch it! But sadly it would be in the 4.0 version... :tears:

I keep wanting to get together the guts and time to just go over to the comic book shop. They do magic card games every week and from what I can tell that's where most of us geeks get back on the wagon and meet gaming groups.

Even magic itself would be fun. I don't know if any of you played but I quit when Ravinica was out the first time. I'll probably miss Return to Ravinica if I start playing again. But the instant/sorcery/deck search/permission and just no permanents style will probably be one the game will always support. Yeah I was one of those people that made the game take forever.

Really cool to see a D&D shout-out though. Been too long since I've rolled a 20 sider.

I know of two places (well three but college doesn't count) to go: the comic book store and the mall comic D&D RPG store!!!

I am an elf deck girl for MTG! I breed elves and generate massive amounts of mana and wipe the feild, FAST! But I love playing in groups since I lose often and it's more fun just to mess with people XD

    3.5 and Pathfinder.

Also, rogue buddies! 8th-level rogue/1st level duelist (Pathfinder prestige class), elf. I built up my melee ability, with rapier and short sword, so I can occasionally get three sneak attacks in in a round.

Did you ever have one person that would p*ss off the DM so much that he would try to kill the party on purpose? There was one guy that got very literal with the DM. It got so bad that you had to say "I ready my weapon." If you said "draw my weapon" you would have a nice sketch of your weapon. The orcs would also get a free turn at you.

I had a player that used to piss me off, she'd always run off on her own and for some reason attack other players. She was more interested in showing her character was better then the other then playing the game.

One party member tended to take up a fair bit of game time by starting bar brawls all the time. Our DM ended up giving us a bar brawl as a task because we always started them anyway.

Also, after the cleric decided that he was going to drink himself stupid when drinking on the king's tab, the DM had him wake up in the temple of Moradin, surrounded by undergarments, and with a newfound drug addiction.
