when my mates and i go on a road trip we sometimes drink and listen to the music its fun not for the driver though... or just talk smack usually someone sleeps and everyone else is doing their own thing...
You can play the licenses plate game. Where you see how many different licenses plates you can identify.
You pick three people (usually similar ones) and everyone else (to whom the question applies based on sexual preference) picks which one they'd kill, which one they'd fuck, and which one they'd marry. Example: Kill/fuck/marry -- Lady Gaga, Kesha, Katy Perry. Kill: Lady Gaga, because she creeps the hell out of me Fuck: Katy Perry, because I guess she's hot, not really Marry: Kesha, because free Jack Daniels for life, probs.
^ Yes, Fuck Marry Kill is SO much fun!! I second that one! Another game I like to play with friends is 20 questions. Always fun and the possibilities are endless. Also, make sure you bring lots of music to listen to, of course! Have a fun road trip!
IDK; I just converse with friends and stuff, family road-trips are pretty uncomfortable but I generally don't have any issues with friends whom I get along with and share some interest with. Chat, radio/Audio, rest (Unless driving), chat, etc. At least my friends aren't as b***** as my family whom have a tolerance of nill; screaming their heads off at the slightest noise. I'm so glad I got my license and drive myself now.
I play the alphabet game lol you have to go through the alphabet finding signs and license plates that contain the letters. First person to finish wins. You can only use 1 sign/license plate per letter. Example: A license plate reading FB2 XACD doesn't get you through to E. It only counts for the letter A.
Formulate a plot to destroy/takeover/rebuild the world. I have actually done this, it really passes the time.
I don't do car trips now, but one tactic I recall from growing up was reading out loud. Story that is irrelevant, but I feel like sharing anyway: in early elementary school, my family took a long road trip. My mother bought four of the great American classics (the first four Hardy Boys books) to read to me. Unfortunately, she whipped through all four books on the first day. Years later, she laughed at how she read to the point she was hoarse, and I insisted she keep going. She'd try to pause, and say, "Look at the pretty mountain!" I'd look, and then say, "Read!"
The celebrity name game is fun. Say a name and the next person says a celebrity's name and the first name has to start with the same letter as the last person's last name. Go from person to person, fun and kills allot of time
