Because I'm lame and bored as hell on a Saturday...

And of course I'll have to start with:

    the Velvet Underground And Nico

Both a great display of Warholian pop art and phallic imagery in the most lovely way.

    Patti Smith - Horses

Androgynous, taken by the great Robert Mapplethorpe, and modeled after the French Symbolist poet Arthur Rimbaud.

Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

I always loved the theatricality of both the music and artwork

A Day To Remember's album cover for What Separates You From Me is amazing.

Oh yah, and Sleeping With Siren's "If You Were a Movie, This Would Be Your Soundtrack."

I love every song on that album, and the cover is AMAZING!

I love the cover and back to Funkadelic's Maggot Brain. Its one record I always remember sticking out in my dads collection.

I am a fan of more simple works usually.

I don't know that I have any favorites, but I really like that Smashing Pumpkins one. Real "Starry Night" feel to it.

Man, Mellon Collie is such a great album - although, I have to say that gets beaten by Siamese Dream (although that comment has nothing to do with the album artwork).

For me, Vulgar Display has been one of the most iconic album covers:

    but then, theres Violent Femmes,
    [IMG]

    Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots,
    [IMG]

    Number of the Beast,
    [IMG]

    and London Calling.

Ooo, I had forgotten the Break of Reality one. Would probably have to make that one my favorite, actually.

    I have a few I really like.

Shallow Grave 'by' The Tallest Man on Earth
I would stare at the cover as the songs were playing on my ipod.

    Vignetting the Compost 'by' Bibio
Really beautiful picture imo. I love every single song on the album as well.

    Oracular Spectacular 'by' MGMT
I remember how my brother came to me and told me had found the best band ever. Then he played 'Kids' and I was mesmerized instantly. This was the first picture I saw of Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, which is also the cover for their first official album.

Houses of the Holy 'by' Led Zeppelin
    [IMG]

    Black Sabbath 'by' Black Sabbath
    Creepiest album cover ever.

Awesome. I love The Tallest Man on Earth. His album covers are really beautiful in my opinion. Very simple and interesting. Shallow Grave is probably my favorite though.

My god, VanWyngarden. Great musician, and he's really hot. Cool tattoos, too. By the way, watch this.

That's awesome how they managed to fuse those two songs so well.

I know right, such a great musician and band. I really like VanWyngardens style, don't know if I think he's that hot though. I don't know how much you like MGMT and the whole psychedelic genre however I think this song has some awesome guitar in it, if you're interested

I've always liked the look of the Flaming Lips album (even tho I've never listened to it). Also the Violent Femmes one looks incredible... I've been meaning to pick up one of their albums.

Wow, that Tallest Man on Earth one is gorgeous; I'm gonna have to look them up just because of it.

    Houses of the Holy .

I always thought the guy from MGMT was gorgeous.

    lack Sabbath is another classic.

That Flaming Lips album is more electronic than their earlier stuff. If you want to hear some of their more alternative tunes, get Transmissions from the Satellite Heart.

The Femmes rule - Gordon Gano is awesome, albeit a bit of a sell-out.

MGMT are pretty sick, man. Oracular Spectacular is a great album - they're almost like a cross between Mylo and Gorillaz to me. The psychedelic genre is pretty sweet, because psychedelic can range from The Butthole Surfers to Beck to the more electronic stuff, like MGMT.

    ---------- Post added 13th Apr 2013 at 08:00 PM ----------

Why did I not put OK Computer!? :bang: So many awesome albums, such little time. Anyways, what do you think is the best Sonic Youth album? I only have Hits are for Squares, and I love Teenage Riot, and it would be cool to see some more of their stuff.
