So I don't have a proper binder as of yet, and my DIY binder works quite well, but it makes me get overheated very quickly. My body naturally overheats super fast (I start sweating within five minutes of being outside, no lie), so that doesn't help. I live in Miami, where the weather is between 80-90 degrees almost all year round (It was 90 on Friday) and I was wondering if anyone has any binding tips for REALLY warm and humid weather? This situation sucks x_x thanks! :help:
Oh man. Used to live in Florida (Orlando to be exact) so, man, I feel your pain. While I've got no personal experience (but in a week, I will...) I'd recommend using a binder out of a material such as cotton- wicks sweat away from skin and whatnot. Don't bind over twelve hours, stay hydrated, and stop as soon as you feel dizzy/heat stroke.
Two words: talc powder. It comes in baby powder, or even foot powder, which is better because it has menthol and feels cool and soothing. Just dust it on yourself a bit. It also dries up any moisture and makes it loads easier to put a binder on after a shower. The only weird thing is that when I start sweating it makes the menthol work, which makes it feel like someone put icy hot on my chest, but it counteracts the hot weather a little bit.
This binder might help? I own it, it's lightweight. It hasn't been humid lately so I can't say if it's unbearable in humidity.
Clockworkfox, does that binder work well?? I was actually thinking of buying it if I can find a friend to order it to their house :x (my mom would kill me)
That works really well i need one ---------- Post added 18th Sep 2013 at 08:49 PM ---------- I'm going to try to find a friend to order me one asap omg
I forgot the material my binder is made of, but the back is different from the front and it keeps me well ventilated, especially in hot weather. It's on LesLoveBoat and it's the Air M model.
Asian sizing runs a little smaller than US sizing. There's a chart on the page that's quite helpful. ---------- Post added 19th Sep 2013 at 12:02 AM ---------- Too long. But I couldn't afford faster shipping, and it got here safe and sound, which is all that really matters. An actual, rough estimate? It took a few weeks.
