How many people identify as gender fluid?

There are a lot here that do, and I know that no one has a 100% male or 100% female patterned brain, but I am curious as to how many people identify as gender fluid. Are there any statistics on this stuff?

    Myself, for one!
But there are not really very firm statistics on this, since genderqueer, fluid, or non-conforming are such minority identities. It's estimated that anywhere from 2-10% of the US is genderqueer, though that is a guess, and is not exclusive to JUST people who identify as gender-fluid.

Genderfluid is similar to genderqueer. Someone who is genderfluid may use "they/xi/ze" pronouns (they being the most common); being genderfluid most commonly means someone whose gender identity can change by day or week, i.e., waking up one day and feeling more masculine, and the next feeling more feminine, or maybe neither at all. I have some friends that can change with as little as a nap!

That is why I am curious, cause I wonder how many people who don't identify as genderfluid still feel that way, and to what extent.

I don't think enough people really know what gender fluidity is to identify that way, sadly. If it weren't for my fiancee I would have no idea I'm fluid!

  7. I'm androgynous, but I think it's under the genderfluid/genderqueer category.

I've always thought gender fluid was included under the genderqueer umbrella, since it falls outside of the gender binary. Genderqueer is basically a catch-all term for identities other than strictly man or woman, so if your identity were constantly fluctuating, you probably wouldn't strictly identify with either one.

Me, and a few more people I know. I would pass alternately as it-girl and male, ocassinally fem female. Passing as male is the lazy option - they are 'allowed' to be slack in their presentation.

Genderqueer not fluid. But that's close I guess.

Yeah, you are probably right. I would just love to see some real research on how many people feel they fluctuate cause I would love to hear some science behind the fluctuations.
