So recently I saw this article its old but not to old i think but its about buck angel and he was bashing about FtM's bottom surgery which is so rude no matter if the results are not as real looking as a normal looking one you have no right to bash on someone for getting a surgery to make them happy and its cool if you dont want to get bottom surgery but don't bash on people who choose surgery it goes both ways some transgender people bash others for not wanting surgery. It just make me mad because its not your body its theirs if they do or don't want surgery you don't get to bash them for the decision they make. ~sorry this is bit of a rant but I just had no one to talk to~ So I was wondering what are your opinions on bottom surgery why or why wont you get surgery and if you did or are getting surgery when did you decided which surgery you wanted to get. Personally for me I know which surgery im going to get already.

Personally, a huge reason I'm non-op, is because i feel i wouldn't want to go through the turmoil of surgery for results that aren't going to be what i want exactly. In the end, it's simply my body. However it my girlfriend(MtF) ever wanted to get surgery, I'd stick by her. If you don't like surgery, simply don't have it. Why would someone care what another looks like down there? What? Do they plan to sniff it of something? "I've smelled alot of dick in my day, and this isn't genuine dick."

Yeah. Personally I cant go through my life without surgery even if the results are not ideal I still think its good enough for me.

Well, I can't blame him- the only options are prohibitively expensive surgeries that generally have poor results. Now, if he was bashing MtF bottom surgery, then I'd angrily link to scholarly articles about vaginoplasty. I mean, the results are astounding! It's like magic! Of course, we still need to figure out how to add ovaries to MtF vaginas, and add menustrational cycles to them. In fact, maybe we could grow brand new female reproduction systems and give them to trans women! Now that would cause people to stop bitching about it.

I might have gone on a tangent there, but I do have a point. People have the right to have negative opinions. If you want to do it, that's cool, but I suggest you focus on removing the female organs first. Maybe a good FtM bottom surgery will have surfaced by then.

Well he was saying it really rudely i believe he called it mutilating their bodies. Yeah you can think its bad results and say the results are bad but not insult people who get the surgery.

I've been iffy about bottom surgery for a long time, but until there are big leaps in the medical field, I don't see myself getting it. However, I get pretty annoyed seeing people being rude to those who opt to get bottom surgery (calling it mutilation as Caillin mentioned). I've seen people in groups bash it calling it "frankendick" and that nonsense. It's fine if you don't want to go that route, but don't be a douchebag to those who want to or have.

I don't know Buck Angel personally, but he sounds like a douche.

Buck Angel is ftm and an adult film producer/star. I don't know if he's gone through the surgery or not though.

Nope. He didn't do the bottom surgery- his tagline is "The man with a pu55y", after all.

Buck Angel's non-bottom op. Don't know if he's softened his stance but yeah, he's said things like it being mutilation.

I myself...eh. I'm considering bottom surgery. Options aren't great but improving. Cost would be the biggest barrier- if not, I'd probably go for it after top. Haven't been too dysphoric lately but I hate having to merely tolerate my body.

Well, bottom surgery doesn't give too good results in my opinion. I'm not bashing anyone who gets it, but I wouldn't have it myself. Now, Buck Angel shouldn't be saying such things at people who get it because the trans community has already too much problems. If we start fighting each other, we won't do much progress. The thing is, I don't even know what I would with a dick that's sterile. That's pretty much the only thing I would want from this part, and it wouldn't have it, so no matter which way I look at it... Not that surgery really interest me that much. I'm still scared of the two I'm forced to have.

I think about this often. Surgery of any kind scares the hell out of me. Right now though, I feel as though I am content enough. Because it's not an overwhelming drive for me, I feel like I should wait until it does before I decide to get surgery.

Having said that, I still haven't been in a relationship yet, and it may become a much bigger issue for me then. I'd say there is a good chance that I will likely want the surgery in the future. I think my insurance actually covers it (because I have transgender coverage) too so I will probably be giving this a lot of thought in the months to come.

I agree though, I really don't like people bashing on either side of the issue and think that it is far too personal of a decision for them to cast judgement on some else's decision.

Things don't have to be perfect to be worth doing.

There's a book called Hung Jury, available as both paper and ebook, with the stories of ten or twelve men who've had bottom surgery and how it's changed their lives. It's a good read.

Actually, we can print functioning organs using a 3D printer and stem cells. We can grow working organs in test tubes. I wouldn't be surprised if we could make this happen in the fairly near future.

As for the question at hand...

Bottom surgery's not for me, for assorted reasons. But I would never bash it. I think if it works for you, then that's great.

I am undecided on bottom surgery. I think I'm just going to wait till it becomes a must and then if it does I would go for it. It does look painful which puts me off a little but dysphoria can be just as painful emotionally so I think if you can't be content without surgery then you have every right to get whatever you like done.

Dysphoria for me has been really weird these days. I got a gut feeling that once top surgery is off my list, bottom dysphoria will sky rocket.

I don't care if someone has bottom surgery if they feel they need it. I don't. I'm fine without male genitalia.
