Hey, so I wrote this about my gender a little while ago and I would love some feedback. their might be a few mistakes I'm a bit tentative to letting people proofread it because my gender is still considered cis-gender and I don't feel comfortable letting people know about it because I am still a very feminine person. By the way this poem is supposed to be spoken word (Slam poetry). Please leave feedback.

    "Ode to Invisible Boy
    A poem by imsoconfused

    James has always been there
been there in the girl’s smile
as she races past the boys

James is the way she grins
    when someone catches her
    staring at another girls chest

    James is strong
    James is the shadow
that never leaves with the sun
an everlasting echo of a dream
never to been seen nor heard

James is the look of envy
she gets towards the other guy’s suit
while she stands there in three inch heels
    feeling like a drag queen

    James is the way
every time someone calls her ma'am
    A bullet enters her heart

    I am the girl
who fights so hard to exist
buried beneath self hatred and depression
    Lost in a shadow
that no one else can see

    because my brain
doesn’t always agree with my hormones
because “gender” has never fit me
    deemed “girl” by birth
yet lost in a field of
    both Masculinity and Femininity

    Gender has never fit me,
and gender will never fit me.
    Do you really think
    over 7 billion people
    can fit in two categories?

    Everyday James wakes up
    And paints his face
    proving to the world
that one can be both male yet female
    masculine yet feminine.

Sometimes James feels like a trans woman
    born in the right body
    cis-gendered
but imagine all the other times
the times when his best friend
    doesn't even know he exists

    I am James
    I will always be James
    whether boy or girl
    girl nor boy
    I am James"

I've read poetry. I've written poetry. This one is most excellent. This has touched me in places deep. Places I've forgotten or buried.

Places I need to wake up.

    Thank you.

I am utterly amazed, that is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read and I brought a tear to my eye. You should consider getting it published.
