UGH! Nothing get's the dysphoria going like me time spent in hospital.

I went to hospital for 4 days over xmas, and has to go back this morning. Stuck on the men's ward with a bunch of dudes, so I felt compelled to keep my curtains closed the whole time. Every time I pee it's like someone stabs me in the penis (try forgetting you have one when you're trying to pass a cactus!). Can't wear my boobs on the ward 'cause you're not supposed to wear them while sleeping and such. People call me Holly, but then because it's not on my records or a legal change they have to talk about me as 'Mr *********' and use male pronouns when talking about me.

On the other hand I discovered that the super lovely nurse who looked after me today was using all the right pronouns even when I wasn't there so it wasn't all doom and gloom!

    Hugs needed!

    Thanks guys <3

On the subject of which, I wonder where they would put you if you went in from breast implants before you got a legal change of sex?

Nothing wrong with a sympathy post every once in a while sweetie. Sometimes we all need it from time to time. I do have to say that the nurse sounds wonderful though! Hopefully soon this will just be an unpleasant memory for you. Get well (*hug*)

Well I'm out and mostly better, all good stuff.

My sister just said the sweetest thing though. I told her how scared I was that she was going to have a problem when I told her I wanted to be her sister, and she just turned around, looked me dead in the eye and said "Yeah, but it's not like you don't want to be related to me at all!" How can a 10 year old get something that so many adults can't so easily...

I have found that kids do better than adults. Children don't have all the pre-conceived notions we develop as we grow and everything is, for lack of a better word, pure for them. What a wonderful response from your sister by the way.
