So you know what tumblr is right? Okay good, so I got on tumblr and followed some LGBT blogs. Well Tumblr opened my eyes up to a few things.

    1) If you search for "transgender" on Tumblr one of your first results will be a blog having Shemale porn. And if it's a top result, it means a lot of people associate being trans* with this genre of porn. Which upset me.

    2) After following a few blogs by some MtFs and FtMs I learned just how horrifying the dating scene is. Also, some of the stories told by MtFs made me want to hug my girlfriend really tight. And then some of the stories told by FtMs were so relate-able I became hyper aware of my lack of penis, and so I then felt like I need a really tight hug.

And now if you excuse me I have to go to sleep before I think thoughts about this anymore. I forget that things aren't as nice and fluffy like EC, I forget that EC does damage control so you don't see hate messages.

    This site has spoiled me.

There is Tumblr Savior. You can blacklist tags to prevent posts showing. Other than that I dunno. Even with tools such as that; people don't tag properly. Thus you'd still see some of it. I have a few bad stories myself, but nothing to the degree you've read on Tumblr.

I agree tumblr can open peoples eyes on what is currently happening within the lgbt community and you can see what many trans people have to say. when I ran my blog I got to see many sad and happy stories of others life and what they feel and see

Yeah, really easy to forget not everyone's tolerant, you know? I try not to let it get to me- I know who I am, fuck bigots- but then you hear about transpeople dealing with some really awful shit and see some of the things people say about us and yeah, it hits you.

    Don't worry,
    Happens with all sexualities,
When you look for a gay blog,
All you find is porn and twinks,
    It's disturbing to me.

    This is so true.

I'm used to thinking of autism as just something that makes me me. But then I happen to mention autism to someone else and they say 'oh, I feel so sorry for those poor children' and it's like I've just been slapped in the face.

TO be fair though, if you search for most things anywhere porn comes up almost immediately...

Not to mention in the case of tumblr, the search is always going to bring up more hits for porn than trans issues because more people are interested in porn than trans issues.

Who is searching for actual trans stuff? Trans people. Maybe a couple of allies with nothing better to do.

Who is searching for 'shemale porn'? It sure as heck isn't just limited to trans people and allies.

i hear you, it angers me. unfortunately haters will always be out there. if it wasn't for the lgbt community it would be / is others.
