    She's awesome. Too bad people ignore the human struggle that could be so easily rectified. I loved the humor and the sincerity of it all. She's a role model for everyone.

    However, not so sure about that hair...

    There is so many more transgender people out in the open now than there was just a couple decades ago- a couple years ago, even. It's great. Loved the speech. Funny, too.

    That's true... But we're not still any more accepted by the general populace...

    I'm inclined to stay optimistic that that's changing. And if you know where to search, it's not too hard to find very open-minded people to surround yourself with.

    Yeah, considering that just a few years ago, I wasn't even aware that there was such a thing myself. I think that if it's something that people grow up with, and know that being transgender actually exists (for lack of a better word), then things will just keep getting better.
