You could always use clip-ons until you're full time, or pierce one ear, wear it for however long you have to keep it in, then get the other one done and switch them occasionally.

I don't think it matters much nowadays, you see guys with all sorts in their ears.

 

Many guys have both ears pierced, I don't think it will seem weird.
Just get them pierced with simple studs, small hoops or barbells.

 

Studs and small hoops are good. I've seen at least one guy other than me have two holes in each earlobe, too, and he wears small hoops in his.

If you want earrings then yes go for it. I've seen a lot of males wear studs, it's not anything unusual

I've never seen piercings as something that could be put into the gender binary. Do what you like =)
