I was just wondering, how many of you came out as LGB+ before you discovered that you were either transgendered or non-binary?

I came out to my sister as bisexual when I was 9. I came out to everyone as a lesbian at 11. I accepted that I was trans by age 12, lived the way I wanted but didn't really disclose it until I was 18, and only recently to my parents.

I came out as pan and trans at the same time to some people, others just know I'm trans. :L

No, I realised I'm trans at about 2-3 years old, so before that I discovered I like women (at about 16 years old).

I knew I was transgender before I knew I was lesbian. Kind of a prerequisite in my case considering my biological sex.

Let's just say I became aware of non-cisgenderness (to coin an ungainly term) well in advance of discovering I could be attracted to guys. Like, over two decades span of time. Never really figured much anything out about all that, despite near-daily brain-wracking, until after joining EC. Amazing what connecting with kindred spirits after years of isolation can do for helping one find some semblance of humanity in one's self.

Appropriate this is my 1,000th post. Thanks, EC, and all your wonderful members.

I came out as lesbian before I came out. Even though I'm bisexual in reality. But I dunno. See, for me, it was a safe way to still be queer, feel masculine, and admit I liked women...

    Depends who you ask.

If you ask body, then I thought I was gay first.
If you ask the little girl who lived in my brain, I knew I was trans YEARS before.

    You decide who you believe.

I knew I was trans at around... 10-12 years old, I'd say.
I'm not so sure about my sexuality. I'm fairly sure Kinsey 3 sounds right, though.

    Tl;Dr: Trans first.

I came out as pansexual before I came out as trans* but have been questioning my gender from the age 14-16 until I came out as trans* to everyone when I was 17.

Well I knew I liked girls from around 10/11 years old but I also knew I myself wasn't a girl I just didn't have the words for that so...who knows? I came out as bi first, anyway.

Kinsey sexuality scale: 0-6. 0 is 100% straight and 6 is 100% gay. Basically true polysexuality occurs in 2-4 but there are "tendencies" associated with 1 and 5. I'm a Kinsey 0 but I don't find it that interesting personally because it is occasionally used by 0's and 6's to degrade or discriminate against those in the middle (which, in reality, is probably most people anyway).

I think psych tests of any sort are inherently flawed, because there is no 'true north' in any given individual.

Mmm... I dunno. Things like the MMPI are very rigorous. I think some psych tests are very reliable.

I mean, hell, as long as I'm using the compass analogy, I feel about as psychologically fucking broken as the digital compass on my car's display panel.
