I was curious last night whether there are any trans* people in political office in my country, and I came across the Wikipedia entry of a fairly high-profile political appointee who is a transwoman and also is someone I knew (before transition) when I was at university. I don't know her personal story, but her professional story is inspiring to me. Just thought I'd share that discovery with everybody.
Same feeling when I found out about Alan Hart. He's the first documented FtM in the United States and also a doctor, which is exactly what I want to be.
