I asked her to stop calling me "hen" (we're Glaswegian). She accidentally said it afterwards and so I told her - in what I thought was a neutral, non-nasty way - that dhe was doing it again, to which she made it out that I was trying to portray my life as being so hard, and that her mum called her '"hen" until she died' and that it didn't bither her. Does she not realise how hurtful that is?
