I'd like to get some dress clothes that are male, but for some reason my mom didn't let me get a male dress shirt last time we went shopping...any advice? Also, she won't let me shop for men's shoes (I have narrow feet so she says no to them...)...sigh
If you have narrow feet, you might be better off with women's oxfords or loafers, actually... As for the shirt, does she know that you're trans*?
you can find a lot of button-downs in the women's section that aren't too different from men's, actually. there's a certain style (the boyfriend cut, or something?) that is essentially a men's shirt, but in women's sizing. so you could try something like that
Maybe tell her that you're more comfortable with the cut of the mens' clothing? as for mens' shoes, if you have small feet they'll be very hard to find!
My feet are rather narrow yet, I find the space in men's shoes to more comfortable than what is offered in women's. If your feet are small length wise, you should be able to find dress shoes in boy's sizes. As for the dress shirts, try Uniqlo. They seems open on the concept of unisex clothing, I remember they did a collection that was based on this concept a few seasons back. I'm not sure about the stores but, the site currently has items on sale. Their women's dress shirts can be found under "Shirts & Blouses".
YES! After it's done moderating please do check my album out. All my dress shirts are from Uniqlo and from the... female department.
I can sometimes manage to find masculine clothing in the women's department so you could always try that...if not is there any way you could go shopping on your own or with a friend?
There needs to be a LGBT clothing trade store or something XD. Where you can trade in your X gender cloths for Y gender cloths.
I think I actually saw a website like that once, but I don't know how reliable it was. That should definitely be a thing though. Or clothing made specifically for trans people because it can be so hard finding opposite gender clothing that fits :icon_sad:
They do sell smaller men's clothes here in Taiwan, made for dfab bodies. An exchange would certainly be awesome. We should also have masculine hygiene products. I'm sick of how they market tampons and others things.
There are some women's button down shirts that look like men's if you tuck them in. Also, since you have narrow feet, you could have more luck shopping in the boys section for shoes. I have to get some of my shoes there because I wear size 7 men's shoes. You could also try to shop in the boys section and see if anything there fits you and does not make you look juvenile.
there is actually this one on tumblr... The Tumblr Transgender Clothing Exchange (this isn't against the rules, right? it isn't my blog )
