    Female mannerisms are important.

I don't think there is anything wrong with adopting mannerisms.

I feel it's just a way to be more assertive with our gender identity.

So, I guess for the purpose of discussion, what are the mannerisms YOU pick-up on and practice to appear feminine, when you dress and associate yourself as female.

So I thought we would like to discuss the mannerisms females use. I'm kind of interested in the whole thing.

    So thank you.

From what I've heard in the forum, many of the ladies here picked up "feminine" mannerisms just like anyone else - out of habit. But if you're finding that you have a difficult time with this, you might try watching how your friends or relatives move and then adopt one gesture at a time. Just a thought...

I have no clue. I just act normally and hope it works, I guess. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I don't think I've actively learned anything apart from how to sit (I wear skirts exclusively, so I had to learn how to sit without exposing myself!)

Everything else is just sort of things that come naturally...

Thing is I look at other girls and it's not like I'm thinking "Oh I should really be doing what she's doing"

I'll definitely think how I wished I looked like her, or how much better she may look, but I never find myself thinking "I should do that".

It's like with make-up and things too, I know lots of people who will wear make-up and get their eyebrows done and things, and that's great if they want to, but I can't bring myself to do it just because they do, you know?

I know the feeling, I look at most girls now and am thinking "Damn, I wish I was you!" or "Damn, I wish I looked like you!".

My mannerisms are more feminine than many cisfemales in the area I live. I notice I walk with better posture, am more expressive with my face and hands and more "proper" I suppose.

Since I am 6'3 without heels I make an effort to walk with elegance, head up, shoulders back etc rather than a slouchy lump or the lumbering stompers.

I sit up straight with my legs together or crossed at the ankle or knee. I don't place my hands in my pockets.

When eating i take small bites, use straws and I never speak with food in my mouth.

I suppose I just try to be like women from the 40's and 50's etc.

Technically anything you do is 'girl mannerisms' since you're a girl...(*hug*)

I picked up on male mannerisms by people-watching. I would watch people when I was at college. I could just pick a table in a public place and watch how people of different genders act. It helped me understand the different mannerisms that were helping me pass or in some cases not pass.

You shouldn't think like that. :frowning2: Those girls you're looking at aren't half as beautiful as you. (*hug*)

Definitely more masculine mannerisms. The way I walk, occupy my space... Etc.
