Interesting topic that popped in my head. SO here goes: List your role models that aspire you for your preferred gender identity. You can list more than one (obviously) and they can be real people or fictional. Thanks, I'm curious Connie.
I don't know of anyone (real or fictional) whose gender identity is the same as I feel like my own is. I have been looking, but sadly none are evident yet. (Could be that some people identify similarly but don't say so, so I wouldn't know...) But Janet Mock inspires me to live my truth. And she is a beautiful human being, both aesthetically speaking and for what she says and does with her life.

Laverne Cox and Janet Mock probably. I also get inspired by some of the youtube documentaries on trans kids as well. As far as fictional characters go, Sophia from Orange is the New Black, and the two trans main characters in Wandering Son
I don't actually know any famous trans people, real or fictional, but I have the absolute most respect and admiration for my trans brothers and sisters on EC...that's about as close as I've got to role models in anything...
Some famous people who have inspired me in my personal life include: - Steve Irwin - respect for life, curiosity - Angelina Jolie - finding and living my truth - Zach Quinto - fashion... - Deanna Troi - being mindful of the thoughts and feelings of others - Jazz (look on youtube) - to see my own value and understand that it is not dissociated from the value of others - Ender Wiggins - to acknowledge my own weaknesses and strengths and to strive for balance - Madonna - to express myself But more than anyone, I look up to my father. He's the kind of man I want to be, one who looks after his family and puts their needs at the forefront and who never stops learning and growing.
same! i love that manga. in the realm of fictional characters, i also have arya stark, spiderman, and luke skywalker... there's also troye sivan, charles trippy, elliott morgan, and our family friend, who is like 6 years younger than me, but is also ftm and out and proud. he's awesome. and of course all the lovely people here on ec. notice me, senpais
I watched the anime and now I've started reading the manga and I can't stop As far as role models go, in addition to a few of the celebrities other people have listed, I look up to the woodshop teacher at my camp because they are the only genderfluid adult (in fact, the only nonbinary adult) I've ever met. It's nice to know people like me exist outside of the internet and my GSA, and if I get to go back as a counselor next year, I might consider coming out to them, even if I'm not out to anyone else.
I've been watching Skylar's videos since a little after the time I came out and he's super motivational and stuff. He's a youtube vlogger type dude I guess I also really like Laverne Cox & Janet Mock haha
Don't really know any famous trans people. But I think anyone who goes after a dream is pretty inspirational and an awesome role model. But I agree with Holly, you is all amazing and inspiring
I can definitely agree with that. Wandering Son is amazing and beautiful and I think everyone should read it...

I've been watching Sky's gideos for years and I'm talkimg to him via email. My first fictional role model was Adam Torres from Degrassi.
I don't think have any role models and if I have, they're don't have the same gender identity that I have. The fictional characters that I like are almost always male, I don't have any real person as a role model and I don't feel like the fictional characters that I like should be considered as such since I never really look at them wishing to be like them, maybe one trait or two, but in general... I don't really think I have any.
