I'm going to the beach

Which means that I needed to find a way to get out of wearing one of these.

Because there is just no way I'm wandering about in one of these anymore. None. I was uncomfortable about it before I came to terms with being not female and I'm uncomfortable about it now.

So I decided I'm wearing a binder that looks like a tank top and some board shorts. I've only been to the beach like twice ever but I'm presuming that's not unusual for the beach. I don't swim in the ocean, so I figure I don't need to worry much about the binder being less effective when it's wet. Also, this is my first pair of trunks. I am happy to report I dropped a few pants sizes from when I started wearing men's pants (these are the smallest band size I've bought so far, I'm proud), and I'm really starting to look more androgynous.

So I've got myself sorted out with what I think is the most obvious approach to ftm beachwear, but I still haven't talked to my family. I'm at this point where it's obvious I'm masculinizing, and since they haven't said anything yet (and I have a historical vendetta with bikinis), I doubt that what I wear on the beach will be strange to them.

If anyone else is taking an approach to the beach or swimming feel free to talk about it here!

If i were you, i'd pick some shorts, a normal t shirt and a summery shirt over the top of it!
I take it the family doesn't know about the binding?
And i love the sig, LEMONGRAB

Plus if it were me swimming (which it wouldn't) i'd have to tuck and pad the bikini top out :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I'm not sure if they know about the binding. My friend said for her, it was sort of like it registered but it didn't, like she noticed I appear flat-chested occasionally but it didn't register that my tank tops are binders.

I have some t-shirts and things I'll be wearing about also.

The blue one is cute. I'd be so awkward wearing any of those though. :icon_redf Different folks I guess. (*hug*)

(Also yes, lemongrab is my favorite )

Just go with it then, if no ones made a fuss about the tank tops, hopefully it'll just slop past! Pretty sure people would notice me wearing a bra :/

I'm very new to all of this, just wanted to say good on you  and that I'm going out tonight and intend to bend the rules assigned by society to my gender by wearing a black top that is a bit effeminate (it's obviously a woman's) for the first time publicly. It will be at a gay / lesbian venue but despite that I'm still nervous anyway, but thanks for your post!
