Due to circumstances I couldn't control, I ended up in my binder for more than 24 hours, and sleeping in it. Everything was hectic and I completely forgot, until I started coughing up fluid the next day and tried to pull it off. It was really scary, now sometimes I hear a rattling in my lungs before I cough loads, it happened yesterday, has anyone got any advice?

You should probably see a doctor. Maybe avoid wearing the binder for a day or so as well just so you sort of have some time to recover.

I agree with KelsC. You need to see a doc. It may or may not be related to wearing the binder for an extended period, but rattling sounds from the lungs and coughing up large amounts generally indicate an infection. (I'd almost suspect the two weren't related, just coincidence)

Can't really add anything, so I'll just parrot what those two said.

I hope you'll be okay, dude. (*hug*)

What everyone else said. See your doctor. I don't know if it will help, but try not binding for a while and try doing breathing and coughing exercises with your arms up. My doctor told me to do what when I had a lung/breathing issue and it helped a little.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Binders due to the restriction can cause fluid build up, and sleeping in them does too, I'll go to the doctors when I'm at home at some point, thank you all
