So, I'm a chic, but most of my clothes come from the mens section. So I was just wondering if this makes me a cross dresser or not.

By the way, i'm sorry if i offend anyone by my use of the word cross dresser.

    They're just clothes.

But if you want a definite answer?

Do you still feel like a female or would you rather be a male?

I'd say its your own style  .

Why not just dress as you feel comfortable with ?

there are a few threads on clothing on EC... where to get them etc...

Well, the simple definition of crossdressing is "to wear clothing typical of the opposite sex", so in a simple sense, I suppose you could be considered one. BUT, I personally feel that the real act of crossdressing is more like dressing up for something, like an occasion, not just everyday clothes. That's just me though.

Either way, they're just pieces of fabric, so it doesn't matter much really. Wear what you want and be happy!

    Well. "Cross dress."

Seriously, whatever clothes you were, they're your clothes. Not men's clothes, not women's clothes. Your clothes.

    This.

But in a strict sense of binary Identifications?

If you identify as male and wear male clothes it's not crossdressing from a societal standpoint.

Agreed! I wouldn't consider it cross-dressing if you identify with your clothes. I would consider butch woman wearing a dress to be cross dressing.

But if you are wearing opposite-gendered clothing because in a way it's a costume for you, then yes you can cross-dress every day if you want to.

i'll weigh in here as i am a cross dresser. i am a bio male and i like to dress in female clothing. while i am dressed as a girl i feel like a girl i try to have mannerisms of a girl and i think i "think" like a girl. when i am dressed like a guy i still feel my feminine side but mostly i am a guy in thought, movement, and for the most part, feeling. so if you dress in male attire but still feel like a female i would say that it is just your style and you should enjoy it. if you dress opposite and feel opposite then i would say your a cross dresser.

My definition of crossdressing is "wearing clothes that were made for bodies of the opposite sex." So I guess my answer is "yes." *shrug*

i think of crossdressing as dressing as a gender to be perceived as that gender. so if you are wearing male clothes so that people acknowledge you as male, then you would be a crossdresser, imo.

but, i am not a crossdresser, so don't take my word for that

yeah, i agree with this. i definitely think of crossdressing as purposefully trying to look like a different gender when you don't identify as that gender, not just wearing clothes you like that happen to be from the guy's section.

Yes, that would make you a cross dresser, I guess. It's much more acceptable for women to wear men's clothes than men to wear women's clothes, though, so people may not even notice. I'm sure many women shop in the men's department sometimes.
