Isn't it more convenient to use electric devices ? Like an electric shaver ?

I shave up as well. Did you use shaving cream? Also, don't put any pressure on the blade (or very little if you have to) to avoid razor burn.

I have yet to find an electric shaver that leaves my legs as smooth as razors do. :frowning2:

I always go up. I find going against the grain leaves a much smoother shave...I know that supposedly leads to ingrown hairs, but that hasn't been my experience. Shaving down, on the other hand...feels like it wasn't worth shaving at all. Just exfoliate, take your time, and moisturize, and you're good.

I prefer avoiding the hassle with cream etc...
There are shavers which to me come close enough...
You might look at opinions from customers of different devices... some state it comes close...

The good ones are expensive, though, and I'm a cheapskate! Maybe I'll get one for myself for Christmas this year. Guess I'll save money by not having to purchase disposable razors, too.

To be honest nair spray on works amazing the first time. Your skin isn't sensitized at that point and really does do a good job. Minimal shaving afterwards keeps your legs smooth.

I wouldn't recommend reapplying again. I tried. It made my legs really irritated so soon after. But minimal shaving works well.

Yes! Exactly. Doesn't remove hair and for some reason it gets stuck.

Those of us cursed with facial hair hate doing against grain but it gives closest shave.

i always found that the razors with the built in shaving cream thingy worked best for me. don't have to worry about shaving cream, and it gets a nice, smooth shave

I used to shave up too - but I think if you have thicker hair it's harder.

Now I use an electric device - which has already been mentioned, but I also strongly recommend them. They're much easier, faster, and no burn.

Hmm, well thanks, maybe I had an issue with my razor. This was like a week ago and my legs are still painful and bumpy. :frowning2:

I rarely use a razor in my body. Since I do have really sensitive soft skin I use Nair and use a lufasponge to remove the hair before showering. I find the aerosol spray the easiest to use and leave it on at least ten minutes. I use a razor on my face only and only Gillett brand, Mock 5 but all their products are good, oh Only Barbasoll shaving cream. June

I didn't even think of something like nair. Drawbacks? Does it burn or smell very "chemically"?

I always shave downward, because when I shave upwards it feels really uncomfortable and awkward. However if I am in a rush I'll usually shave down and up.

On and off I use shaving cream, because it's a huge mess, and because I usually spray on too much or too little. I just usually dab and sprinkle water on my razor and entire leg, then shave with no cream.

It mainly all depends on the situation and mood to be honest~
