SUCCESSFULLY came out to my mom.

    So, now that I'm a lot less confused, I've come out to my mom again.

    I told her everything, as hard as it was. And I said it firmly, not wavering.
    She said she was sorry if she ever seemed ignorant before, and will support me

    She's going to try and find a therapist in the area who has experience with trans people.
    She also says she will support me with my transition in the future

    The worst day just turned into a really good one!

    I guess my journey begins here

    so happy for you! I've been agonizing over how I'm going to tell my mother. She can be a very stubborn person and doesn't deal well with changes, especially changes she doesn't understand. I've started telling friends of mine who I believed would be supportive in order to get some practice at overcoming the fear of coming out. It has been both difficult and very rewarding. I still can't even imagine how I'm going to come out at work. I too am going to go see a gender therapist (have a first consultation in 2 weeks)
