Foods to stay away from?

So, first of all, I have a question

Being quite a fan of Japanese cuisine, I often eat soy sauce. My question is, does it contain estrogen? I want to stay away from everything that has high levels of estrogen in it.

And, what other foods increase estrogen? I know licorice does, which is why I never ever eat it

I don't know if it's because of estrogen or something like fats and vitamins, but I hear papaya makes your boobs grow bigger. Besides that, haven't heard of any really feminizing foods.

I was under the impression that unless someone maintains high volumes of specific foods over long periods of time that hormones in diet do not play a role in hormone levels.

Heck, I was taking 0.5mg estrogen pills and they didn't even do anything.

Although my personal thoughts aside, I only know of soy and like, plastic containers or something.

If you live in the United States of America, I have read quite a bit that links the hormones they use in cows to produce milk and earlier puberty in girls, as well as increased breast growth and development.

Milk Myth #1: Drinking Milk Causes Early Puberty

like there's no evidence that's what's causing the earlier puberty.

You would have to eat a lot of soy sauce for a very long time to see any effects from it. The same goes for foods that increase T, it takes a lot of them over a long period of time.

Anything to try to increase or decrease hormones in the body is dangerous to do without the advice of a doctor. Hormones control a lot, and if they are messed up, then you will be messed up. My hormones were so messed up that I almost was delayed starting T, and I had to take some E before I started on T.

I eat it sometimes, with rice or sushi

It's not every day. Then I won't see any (even slight) effects... Right?

I mean, Japanese people (of course including men) eat it often as well...

You shouldn't see side effects then. You would practically have to be drinking it to see side effects from it. So, I doubt that eating it with rice or sushi is going to cause even slight effects.

That's something to check up on with a dietitian or your doctor.

I stopped drinking soy milk when I was a vegetarian to avoid this problem. I think you'd need to ingest a lot of it to notice anything, but I don't like taking chances.

Soy doesn't really have much effect on the body in moderate amounts. Usually when foods go through a cooking process, it loses a lot of the original nutrients that it has. Tofu actually has less than half the estrogen than soy beans do. Another food item you definitely want to stay away from is Flax Seeds. Flax Seeds have 3 times as much estrogen in it than soy, if not more.

This is about basic nutrition, not sure if it answers the question, but it was writen by a Trans male.

FTM Fitness Part 1 :: Basic Nutrition

He gives also advice about sport, etc. I'm having a hard time with the nutrition, been on a high carb diet most of my life (bread, lentils, spaguetti...), and in love with cheese.

A good thing is to check what's inside everything you buy (processed foods) to avoid unnecesary sugar, fat, etc... But I guess you knew that already...

Do you guys know if Salmon and other fish is ok?

OK for what? Fish is good in general because fish has essential fatty acids in them that help with a host of different things. Joints, brain function, and more.

Oh, any kind of meat product is good for Test production, just not meat substitutes. Try to find ones that are natural because mass produced meats tend to be injected with hormones and steroids to increase growth rate. Also make sure it isn't too lean, the body actually uses fat in meat to make testosterone.
