So yeah, the title of the thread explains it, but I figure I'll go into more detail. I'm Jake, 15 years, old, currently identifying as a cis bi male. But when it comes to my gender identity, I'm rather unsure about it. See, I'm not trans, I know that for sure, but I don't feel 100% male. I am not sure what to really identify as, and how to handle identifying outside of the gender binary (or however you phrase it). Any and all advice/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :icon_bigg
I mean I don't feel comfortable defining as a male 100% because I feel that it doesn't fit who I am or how I feel in general.
To clarify, if you're not 100% the gender you were assigned, you can claim the word trans. Alternatively, you don't have to.
Trans woman would. Transgender just means not identifying with the gender you were assigned. Alternative terms could be gender non conforming, or non binary.
There is a great channel on youtube called genderqueerchat. It might be worth checking out to see if you resonate with what those people are saying. Many cultures have a third gender for feminine men. Since the U.S. only has the binary though, there really is no concept of third gender here (aside from native american two-spirits).
You might have a look at this: http://emptyclosets.com/forum/gender-identity-expression/153243-androgynous-something-else.html#3 I'd say take your time... relax... explore your feelings... you might change your style a bit, for example, if that's what you want.... (*hug*)(*hug*)
That's strange, I saw on some posts in a different forum that the transguys normally were around 80% male, and the genderfluid people were around 40%-60%. I am not sure if anybody is scientifically 100% one gender or another.
Some labels/phrases you may want to explore.... Non-binary, gender-queer, agender, gender-fluid, gender-variant, pangender, bi-gender.
