Blood clots too. There hasn't been as much long-term research either according to my doctor so way in the future who knows what might happen to me. I remember when I was being told all the risks and stuff. I said to him "I guess I'll be the research then"

I've never heard anything about it effecting bone density at all. The only way that that would happen is if you had NO hormones in your system. Like when women go through menopause, or if you get SRS and stop taking your pills.

All life has risks. The way I look at it, the health risks of not being on hormones (possible self harm, self destructive behaviour) are way worse than the possible risks of being on them.

going to have to second this. There are 10 million ways to have health problems, but only one real solution to physical/medical transitioning. I'd rather be happy and die of a heart attack/stroke in a few decades than be so unhappy with my life that I choose to kill myself. HRT will be more of a life-saver to me than a health risk.

But I don't want to be on them forever and heart attacks runs in my family so it isn't very safe for me.

that'd be a bit worrying >.> Considering my own version of self destruction in the past involved a rather unhealthy "who gives a F:***:" diet, this could be a real concern for me when I start hrt....

Major ones are liver malfuction, blood clots, etc.

It's true, we're the forefront of hormonal knowledge, anyone who is trans and on hormones are essentially pioneers in the medical field.

I also heart of heart and ocular issues, though I'm not sure what ocular meant exactly.

    Please read the leaflet thoroughly...

and some people take estrogen pills sublingually which makes it a different ballgame, also reducing some risks...
as written above, this is no healt advise, consult a doctor...
