So well, yesterday my family ate lunch at my cousins' house. We rarely see each other and I got my hair cut short a week ago. When we got there my youngest cousin (6 years old) welcomed me with a "Hi guy!" and I thought she was just being ironic because that I have short hair now. But later on when she wanted to show me her room her older borther (7 years old) asked me "do you have a deep or a high voice?" and I answered that I probably have something in the middle, without thinking of that he might've been confused.

When they dragged me to the TV to watch their new favourite movie the 7 year old asked me "are you a boy?" and I kind of froze for a second. They thought I was a different person from the "girl-cousin" they've met before. I said no, and it hurt me on the inside, because I was a guy yesterday. But I couldn't take the risk that they might call me by male pronouns in front of my parents. The struggles of being a closeted genderfluid I guess... :eusa_doh:

Has anything similar happened to any of you?

Yep. I was presenting as male at my job, so I tie my hair into a ponytail, shove it under a work cap, and pretend to be one of the guys.

It doesn't seem to work very well, especially now that I'm on hormones.

I've been mistaken for female WHILE TRYING to be male, it was super embarrassing though I was secretly happy. I've had a few "Good by ladies/girls" moments and my coworkers just smile/laugh, most of them don't know I'm actually trans.

I've actually had some really crazy stories regarding it, and they mostly come from work >_>

    How I presented/looked at work:

That's my cherry picked, guy mode pictures.

I've had a couple lewd jokes thrown my way, most of it I laughed at.

The hardest part is, I'm so paranoid about passing and looking completely female that I seem to be blind to the fact that being mistaken for female as male should be an indicator that I might be able to transition without getting clocked, but idk.

It's all very stressful ironic and sometimes funny.

Also when I was really little I got mistaken as a girl once or twice, but I think it was by old people, so I blame their eyes xD
