    Hi guys,

I'd know how many religions support trans folks and androgyny. Do you know any?

I'm interest (I dunno why) in Shintoism but I don't understand very much if it only toletares trans* people and androgynes or support them.

Well, I'm a Hindu, and we've had plenty of transgender mythological characters. Just look at Amba, who was reborn as Shikhandini, who transitioned into Shikhandi (FTM). Or Arjuna, who spent a year living as an MTF woman named Brihannala. Or Indra, who was cursed to, ahem, have lady's parts all over his skin. There are also many carvings of same-sex relationships in temples all over India.

(And yet, gayness is currently illegal in India. Go figure.)

On a more serious note, the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is very accepting.

I'm Pagan and (most likely) genderfluid, and every event I've gone to, people are really kind and supportive.

It's my understanding that Wicca is LGBT friendly, and Satanism is fine with homosexuality, and I'm sure they're fine and accepting with being trans as well.

I am accepting of all people so long as they are not wicked.

My goddess Asherah is the real parent of Christ not Jehovah the Jewish god.

I call myself an Asherite but I am the only member of my brand of non-Abrahamic Christianity.
Though I am not looking for converts.

The spiritual journey and experience is more important than any doctrine I could teach or any wisdom I might share.

    Isn't it contradictory?

If you don't mind to ask, are you a Hindu because you're Indian? Or you chose this religion because you like it?

Pardon my ignorance, but I didn't understand what is your religion  Are you a Christian?

I'm a Buddhist Christian. I know a lot of Christian churches try to condemn trans people but you just have to find a community that is accepting of all people. The one I found is accepting of all religions. They are more focused on helping you grow spiritually and to find your own path.

Wow! Can you be a Christian and a Buddhist at the same time?

And you found a Christian church which accepts you both as a non-cis person and a Buddhist? Or I didn't understand well?

It's not a "Christian" church actually, it's a spiritual community. Buddhism isn't really a religion(at last from my understanding of it), it's more of a philosophy. My beliefs are rooted in Christianity but some of my other beliefs encompass Buddhist teachings.

I'm a Desi! In other words, I'm Indian  You can't actually convert to Hinduism, you have to be born in it - but no one really cares anymore. If you wanna identify as Hindu, so be it.

Yeah, it's really stupid. A lot of people are against it. I feel like they just want to criminalize more stuff so that the cops can get more bribe money :tantrum:

I'm a Christian but I appreciate a lot of the values Islam has to offer. Though neither tolerates transgenderism well. :frowning2:

In my Episcopal church we have a rainbow flag hanging up in the corner. We also let transgendered people and women be priests.
